Physical Domain
Recognising the value of physical development, we help students build their coordination, health, and physical skills through purposeful activities and a wide range of sports.
The physical domain of potential refers to natural abilities in muscular movement and motor control.
Signs of high potential in the physical domain include power, speed, muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, speed of reflexes, agility, coordination and balance.
King Park and Westfield Sports High Football program
Westfields Sports High School offers a highly regarded Football (Soccer) Talented Sports Program (TSP) for boys and girls, focusing on holistic player development with advanced skill training, strength/conditioning, and pathways to high school. this program aims to nuture talend from age 8 and potentially throughout the rest of their schooling career.
Highlighted success has been seen through A-league players such as Ellie Carpenter, and Anthony Caceres.
PSSA Gala Days
King Park Public School's Year 3-6 students have the opportunity to participate in PSSA (Primary Schools Sports Association) competition Gala Days against local schools, 2-3 times per term. Students attend weekly training sessions, developing specific sporting skills to successfully engage in team sports.
Horsley Zone PSSA Representation
Our school provides students with the opportunity to trial for and represent the Horsley Zone in PSSA teams. This pathway allows students to participate in competitive sport beyond the school level, further developing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students who are selected have the chance to compete against other schools while representing both our school and the wider Horsley Zone.
Sydney South West Regional Representation
Our school supports students in accessing opportunities to progress beyond the zone level through Sydney South West Regional representation. Students selected at this stage compete at a higher level, further developing their skills, teamwork, and confidence. This pathway provides valuable experience in representing both their zone and the region in competitive sport.
NSW State PSSA Representation
Students who demonstrate exceptional ability may progress to NSW State PSSA representation. This is the highest level of primary school sport, where students compete against top athletes from across the state. Our school is proud to provide and support this pathway, allowing students to extend their talents and represent their region at a state level.
National Representation
Students who reach the highest level of school sport may have the opportunity to achieve national representation. At this stage, selected students compete against the best young athletes from across Australia, showcasing exceptional skill, dedication, and sportsmanship. Our school proudly supports students in pursuing this pathway, celebrating their achievements at the national level.
Athletics Carnival
Our annual Athletics Carnival provides all students with the opportunity to participate in a range of track and field events in a fun and supportive environment. The day encourages active participation, teamwork, and school spirit, while also allowing students to showcase their athletic abilities. It serves as an important pathway for students to be identified for further representative opportunities.
Swimming Carnival
Our annual Swimming Carnival gives students the opportunity to take part in a range of swimming events and do their best in friendly competition. The day celebrates participation, effort, and house spirit, with students encouraged to challenge themselves and strive for personal bests. It also provides a pathway for selection into further representative opportunities.
Cross Country Carnival
Our annual Cross Country Carnival invites students to take part in long-distance running, encouraging perseverance, resilience, and personal goal-setting. Students are challenged to do their best while building confidence and a sense of achievement. The event also provides a pathway for students to be considered for further representative opportunities.
Wanderer's Football Clinic
Our School partners with the Western Sydeny Wanderer's to offer Football Clinics that engage students through football and providing them with a positive football experience.
The delivery of the clinics across Western Sydney continues our commitment to making sure that football programs are accessible to all schools and students in our region.
Basketball Clinic
Our Basketball Clinic provides students with the opportunity to develop their skills through targeted coaching and game-based activities. Students focus on improving fundamental techniques such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork, while building confidence and game awareness. The clinic encourages active participation and enjoyment of the sport, and supports students in further developing their basketball ability.
